On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we welcome you to the Haywood NorAm Candy Cane Cup!

Dear Coaches,

We the organizing committee of the Noram Coupe Canne de Noel/Candy Cane Cup would like to welcome you to the event.

As you may be aware there is very little snow in the Ottawa/Gatineau region. Thanks to the voting across the country in 2016, we have snow-making and are able to offer all of our planned courses on man-made snow (thanks snow-makers!!!). That does however mean that you will need to plan to do your warm-up for the distance races as a running warm-up, on the warm-up loops. Please plan to bring appropriate equipment to facilitate a non-skiing warm-up.

For the Sprint races, we are offering U20 registered skiers the opportunity to race in the Senior Heats should they qualify in the top 30 overall (should they not qualify for the Senior heats, they will still be able to race in the U20 heats). We need you to identify those U20 skiers who are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity. This will be a completely manual process so we need to know of your skiers intentions by 9 am Thursday 12 December. If you have U20 registered skiers who wish to race in the senior heats should they qualify please notify the race secretary secretariat@coupecandycanecup.ca with the following information: Skier name, Nordiq Canada Licence Number, club – by 0900 12 December. Please note: should they qualify and race in the Senior heats, they will not be able to race in the U20 heats.

As we get closer to the event, we invite you to check the website coupecandycanecup.ca for updates!

See you soon!

Hi Skiers and Coaches,

Please plan to bring appropriate equipment to facilitate a non-skiing warm-up.

We will have space available for a skiing warm-up for the sprint races Friday – but again the area will be busy so please pay attention to the signage. There will be an area set aside for you to be able to test your grip wax on the classic day – but it is to be used for wax testing only (there simply is not enough room).

As we get closer to the event please pay attention to the website coupecandycanecup.ca for updates!

Welcome and happy skiing to all,
The Organizing Committee
